Kayaking on Arenal Lake
Duration: 4.5 hours approx.
This adventure will take you to Costa Rica’s biggest lake, right at Arenal Volcano’s feet, and it gets amazing right from the moment you leave your hotel. Sometimes surrounding the Arenal Volcano, sometimes through a tropical forest, that’s the picturesque road you will follow with us, which by the way; hides more treasures than you would imagine.
After such pleasant short drive, you will arrive to the Arenal Lake. Although it’s actually a dam made in 1974 for hydroelectric energy production, it matches perfectly with the whole landscape and definitely improves Arenal Volcano’s view. Once at the lake, our team will quickly suit you up with a life jacket and a paddle, and give you a brief explanation of kayaking basic techniques. All settled, our tour will start paddling across the lake with the possibility to observe different species of birds like “Flycatchers”, “Kingfishers”, “Great Blue Herons” and “Anhingas” and may also possibly hear the Howler monkeys!
